Lost starboard engine due to flak over the target. Limped over the border to Holland, forced to abandon a/c.
All crew baled out successfully.
The plane crashed near St. Oedenrode, the Netherlands.
The original Observer of this crew was Sgt. Killelea.
On 12 June 1942, at approximately 9.30 pm a solitary German bomber dropped a stick of bomb's on
King's Lynn which demolished the Eagle public house,

194 aircraft - 139 Wellingtons, 33 Halifaxes, 13 Lancasters, 9 Stirlings.
The first of a series of raids on this industrial city on the edge of the Ruhr.
The force encountered cloud and electrical storms and reported that their bombing was well scattered.
Duisburg reports only housing damage - 11 houses destroyed, 18 seriously damaged - and 17 people killed.
6 aircraft - 3 Wellingtons, 2 Stirlings, 1 Lancaster - were lost, 4 more aircraft crashed in tons England.

ORB. 13th. July, 1942.
12 aircraft (7 from 'A' Flight and 5 from 'B' Flight)
took off on operations between 0013 and 0040 hours to attack target DUISBERG
and found weather over the target to be fair although cloud was 6/10ths.
Bombs were dropped from heights ranging between 13400 and 15000 feet and a few
bursts seen in built up areas and some fires observed.
1 aircraft (A/C. D.Z.1624 - Captain Sgt. FEREDAY) brought back 1. 500 lb. G.P. due to a hang up.
1 aircraft (A/C. G.X.3471 - Captain P/O. GRIMSTON) developed engine trouble (starboard)
over the target presumably due to Flak damage, the engine finally becoming unserviceable over the
North Sea and causing the aircraft to crash land at WATTON. All the crew were unhurt.
A/C. K.X.3560 (Captain F/S. MOONEY) failed to return from operations.
0455. All the remaining aircraft had returned safely to base after operations.
