7 aircraft (4 from "A flight & 3 from "B" Flight)
took off on MINELAYING OPERATIONS between 16.55 hours & 17.05 hours.
5 of the aircraft successfully located their positions by visual pinpoint and dropped
their mines on D.R. from heights ranging between 500 feet and 900 feet,
and one of them (A/C. V.B.J.965 - Captain Sgt. ROSS) crash landed on return owing to Flak damage.
1 aircraft (A/C. N.B.J.990 - Captain P/O. THOMAS) was forced to abandon the sortie
to bad visibility and returned to base early bringing back its mines.
1 aircraft failed to return from operations.
00.30 The remaining 6 aircraft had returned to base after operations.
