15/16 November, 49 Wellingtons were sent to bomb Emden, while another 47 aircraft attacked Kiel.
On the Emden operation four Willingtons were lost.
P/O Stock, 115 Squadron ditched in the sea off Whitby,
he and his crew were rescued by a destroyer crewed by Norwegian sailors.

ORB. 15th. November, 1941.
8 aircraft (5from "A" Flight and 3 from "B" Flight)
were detailed to attack target KIEL.
4 of the aircraft bombing on E.T.A. and from heights ranging between 13000 and 16300 feet
dropped their bombs but no results were observed owing to cloud.
3 aircraft were unable to pinpoint target and so attacked FLENBERG and SCRIVERIN
but again owing to bad weather no results were observed.
A/C. F.X.9888 (Captain Sgt. HORSLEY) Failed to return to Base after Operations.
A/C. H.Z.8848 (Captain P/O. STOCK) was forced down into the sea near WHITBY due to petrol shortage.
All the crew were picked up by a Norwegian destroyer.
0727. All the remaining aircraft had returned safely to Base after Operations.
