Crashed at Am Falkenberg-Hamburg.
ORB. 16/11/1940. 11 aircraft took off between 17.20 hours and 21.00 hours.
Only 4 aircraft attacked the primary target, owing to 10/10 cloud over the area.
Alternative targets were attacked, but results were not generally observed.
Very intense flak fire was encountered, and strong opposition by enemy fighters.
Two aircraft, A/C. 3213., Captn., Sgt. ENGLISH, and
A/C. 2986., Captn. Sgt. LARKMAN, failed to return.

(P9299 moved on 05.12.1940 to Czech OTU and crashed on 6 April 1942, no survivors.
Remainder landed safely at Base.
During the nights of 15/16 and 16/17 November, a total of over 200 aircraft were despatched to Hamburg.
(Curiously, in light of subsequent events, these were the second and third consecutive nights that the city had been targeted).
One the first night, heavy damage was caused at the Blohm & Voss shipyard and over 60 fires started, but on the next raid,
only 60 aircraft were able to find their target.
