(3 Freshman took of between 1842 hours to 1850 hours.)

2 of the above aircraft successfully located and attacked target and bombing from 14.000 feet
bombed S/L and Flak concentrations. Bursts were seen but no results observed, owing to cloud.
A/C. Q.X.9877 (Captain Sgt. HULLS) jettisoned his bombs at 2048 hours between EMDEN and
coast after receiving recall signal. Bursts were seen but no results observed.
A/C. X.R.1332 (Captain Sgt. HORABIN) failed to return from this operation after sending an S.O.S.
Engine on fire at 2026 hours.

23.59. Remaining aircraft returned safely to base.
