His Majesty The KING, together with C.-in-C., Air Vice Marshall Sir Richard Edmund Charles PEIRSE, KCB., DSO., AFC., and the A.O.C., Air Vice Marshall John Eustace Arthur BALDWIN, CB., DSO., OBE. visited the Station for the purpose of inspecting Operations.
The C.-in-C., and A.O.C. arrived at 1730. hrs., H.M. The KING arrived at 1845. hrs.
During the tour on inspection H.M. The KING visited Station Operation Room and Intelligence Sections and watched the briefing of crews at Both Station and No. 115 Squadron Crew Room, immediately prior to Operations.
Visits were also made at Watch Office and Flare Path.
H.M. The KING dined with the Officers in Officers Mess and visited the Sergeants Mess where Senior N.C.O., Technical Staff were present.
H.M. The KING afterwards returned to Station Head quarters to meet the Crews returning from Operations.
