The aircraft returned to base early. It was attacked by a night fighter and jettisoned its bombs in the sea. It was abandoned near Honing, midway between North Walsham and Stalham, Norfolk. "Ran out of fuel" is entered on the crash.

Also Wellington MK IC R1063 KO-D, was lost on this mission. No survivors.
