146 aircraft of No 3 Group successfully attacked the railway yards at Vohwinkel. 1 Lancaster lost.

On the return trip the Lancaster came under anti aircraft fire, believed to be from the American 184th Gun Battalion in Belgium, which brought it down. It crashed at 2010 hrs. in a field on farmland at Emines, 5 miles N of Namen, Belgium.
